Purpose:

The Agency Chiefs Tribal Council Inc. has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to deliver the Agency Chiefs Tribal Council Community Justice Program in its three member First Nation communities (Big River, Pelican Lake and Witchekan Lake First Nations). The objective of the Program is to support the development and delivery of alternative measures programming which is designed to achieve wellness through holistic healing processes.
Community Justice Committees guide and direct community justice initiatives which include but are not limited to alternative measures for adults and youth, crime prevention, victim services, talking, healing and sentencing circles and community education.
