Purpose:

The recipient proposes to develop a pre-employment and alternative program for young offenders in custody who are involved in gangs or who are at high risk of gang involvement and who struggle with schooling within mainstream approaches. The programming would consist of developing life skills such as literacy and digital literacy, cooking, skills in arts, drama and writing; all the skills that are essential to developing highly marketable skills for reintegration and for the workforce.
