The Mi'kmaq Confederacy of PEI (MCPEI) has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to plan and deliver the 4th Atlantic Circle Keeper Workshop Project.
MCPEI will host a 2 day workshop that will bring together Circle Keepers, Case Workers, Aboriginal Court Workers, Aboriginal Victim Assistant Workers, Community & Correctional Service Workers, law enforcement and Aboriginal Justice Workers from across the Atlantic Provinces (PEI, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland & Labrador) to address community problems using a holistic approach to justice.
The objectives of the event are the following: to provide justice personnel with a better understanding of the Aboriginal culture and traditions; to share success stories from youth who have completed the Aboriginal Justice Programs; and to increase knowledge of the restorative justice process and mainstream justice process.
