Purpose:

The Manitoba Métis Federation Inc. has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Métis Justice Institute Domestic Violence Counseling Program.
The objective of this program is to increase capacity within the Manitoba Métis Federation Regions to handle domestic violence referrals. In addition, Métis Justice Institute will develop a facilitation kit for Domestic Violence Counseling. The Manitoba Métis Federation will deliver the training to justice staff.
It is anticipated that this project will reduce the number of domestic violence cases in the provincial court system.
