Purpose:

The John Howard Society of New Brunswick (JHSNB) has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to plan and deliver the JHSNB Community Mobilization Project: First Nations Affiliate Expansion Phase III.
This Project aims at assisting the First Nations Affiliates in strengthening their volunteer Boards consisting of Traditional Elders, Band Council, key professionals and community members, to ensure full community representation in order to identify the issues, develop strategies and begin taking actions on local issues relating to offender re-integration, crime reduction and social justice development.
The Project intends to increase the capacity of communities of the newly incorporated First Nations Affiliates to work independently and in a coordinated fashion to meet the needs of their communities with a range of social crime reduction initiatives and best practice model program services.
