Purpose:

The Recipient proposes to expand current programming to include a new service that will locate community-based housing for youth that are involved in the youth criminal justice system and who are suspected, or affected, by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). The FASD Housing Coordinator's role will be focused on securing appropriate housing placements for youth and supporting the home providers. The home provider will offer one to one support to the youth in the home in daily life functions such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, attending appointments, extra-curricular activities, etc. Home providers will be given training to assist them in learning the necessary skills and strategies for working with a youth living with FASD.
