The Heiltsuk Tribal Council has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Heiltsuk Gvi'ilas Community Justice Program.
The Program provides reintegration protocols and programs to the communities of Bella Bella, Denny Island, Klemtu, Ocean Falls, and all members of the Heiltsuk Nation when needed.
The Program objective is to restore community wellness and balance by supporting and promoting the principles of restorative justice. The Program works with various organizations to accomplish this objective by engaging victims, as well as youth and adult offenders and their families, in the administration of justice and the resolution process.
