Purpose:

The Recipient proposes to develop and implement a pilot project to develop a sustainable coordinated approach to improve outcomes for youth involved in the criminal justice system and the child welfare system. Components of the pilot project include: (a) cross-sector training and partnership development; (b) cross-sector capacity building and case conference facilitation; (c) youth mentorship; (d) site specific intervention model; and (e) evaluation. The project will be delivered in four geographic sites in Ontario - Toronto, Belleville, Chatham, and Thunder Bay. A small team of experts will coordinate across all service sectors and each site will develop its own model unique to that jurisdiction.
