Purpose:

The project aims to promote access to justice and participation in the justice system of minor witnesses through an intervention tailored for psychosocial workers of the Crime Victims Assistance Centres Network; to develop specialized services for victims of mass crimes through the creation of a provincial crisis intervention unit; to purchase and install videoconferencing systems in nine courthouses across the province of Quebec; to offer training sessions to stakeholders working with victims to enhance their understanding of the Canadian Victims Bill of Rights and clarify their role in implementing this legislation; and to promote the use of measures to facilitate testimony by raising awareness of the various justice system stakeholders across the province of Quebec.
