Purpose:

The organization will hold its Ninth National Criminal Justice Symposium in Vancouver on January 20-21, 2017. The symposium will address current practice, legislation and opportunity with respect to sentencing in the criminal justice system, and consider reforms which may be necessary to bring sentencing practice in fuller alignment with the fundamental principle of proportionality, and with the full range of sentencing objectives in the Canadian tradition.
