Purpose:

The organization will partner with the Victoria Police Department to improve reporting of sexual assaults against sex workers, and other at-risk community members. To this end, the project will address gaps in knowledge to build the awareness of victims and Peers staff regarding justice systems processes and available assistance, while providing intensive supports to victims throughout their engagement with the criminal justice system. Knowledge exchanges with community partners, victims' services and justice system actors will seek to increase their capacity to support victims who are sex workers. Information will be shared with at-risk sex workers, including Indigenous and racialized women, and others with intersecting challenges like homelessness, substance abuse and mental health issues.
