Purpose:

Over a three year period, the John Howard Society of Toronto will work with 12 to 17 year old African-Caribbean youth, who live in high need neighbourhoods and who have recently been released from youth custody, to assist them with their community reintegration. The organization will deliver culturally relevant gang interventions which will include: individual counselling for youth to encourage smart choices and gang resistance, group counselling sessions, community education workshops for the youth and training for community justice partners and community members/stakeholders.
