Purpose:
|
The Government of the Northwest Territories Department of Justice, Community Justice Division has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to assist with the management of its Community Justice Program. The Program provides funding to communities for Community Justice Committees for restorative justice, victims' services, and crime prevention programming based on each community's objectives and work plans. The Program assists Community Justice Committees in diversion activities; increases networking opportunities; strengthens relationships with stakeholders; supports the initiation of programs such as, on the land programs for youth, school visits and reintegration support for offenders, and; fosters growth in a manner that continues to address the needs as identified by the Community Justice Committees and Northwest Territories communities overall.
