Purpose:

The organization will deliver a series of ten awareness and educational workshops about Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Toronto. The goals of the project are to increase awareness of FGM and the harm associated with the practice; to increase empowerment of victims to report this crime; to improve access to counselling for victims; and, to increase understanding of the law against FGM in Canada by women, communities and service providers in order to help the justice system to reinforce it.
