The Church Council on Justice and Corrections will organize a 2017 National Restorative Justice (RJ) Symposium, in collaboration with the Collaborative Justice Program and Public Safety Canada. The Symposium will ensure that victim's needs and concerns are incorporated in each plenary session and that there are workshops and facilitated dialogue circles dedicated to victim issues in RJ. The project will raise awareness about victims' needs among RJ practitioners and policy makers and will offer opportunities for dialogue among victim-serving organizations and restorative justice agencies. This project will ensure that the needs and views of victims and survivors of crime are incorporated in the national conversation on advancing RJ practices in Canada.
