Purpose:

The organization will hold its Tenth National Criminal Justice Symposium in Montreal on January 26-27, 2018. The symposium will address the overrepresentation of Indigenous peoples in the Canadian criminal justice system and ways to bridge this gap and improve outcomes for Indigenous Canadians. The symposium will also discuss the Supreme Court's decision in R. v Jordan and identify transformative changes to ensure that resources available in the criminal justice system are focused on the most significant matters before the courts in a thorough and timely manner.
