Purpose:

Five-year cost-shared agreement between Canada and the Province of British Columbia for the delivery of criminal, and immigration and refugee legal aid. British Columbia's five-year allocation for criminal legal aid will be $83,426,805. British Columbia will also receive a portion of the $62,900,000 five-year federal allocation for immigration and refugee legal aid, which will be calculated on an annual basis. In addition, in 2017-18, British Columbia will receive a further increase to its immigration and refugee legal aid funding allocation to address increased pressures.
