Purpose:

This is a multi-year project designed to provide an effective intervention for Aboriginal youth involved in or at risk of involvement in a gang. The Recipient will design and run therapeutic, cultural summer day camps using animals, nature and traditional Aboriginal teachings to intervene with approximately 60 Aboriginal youth involved or at-risk of involvement in gangs. The goal is to teach youth a permanent alternative lifestyle that will prevent them from on-going involvement in the justice system.
