This is a multi-year program for the following Fiscal Years: 2005-2006 and 2006-2007.
The Community Justice Program Enhancement Project’s objectives for 2005-2006 are to:
- empower groups, individuals and the communities at large to deal with crime and victimization through education and awareness via site visits and video conferences and to develop networks at all levels of the communities in order to build capacity;
- provide an ongoing support and assistance to communities by enhancing restorative justice practices through the use of training, establishing of protocols and guidelines and to provide support to facilitators and committee members within the communities; and
- provide alternatives to youth who come in conflict with the law by developing sound working relationships with police and court officials and to work with the community members to ensure understanding of the Community Justice Forum (CJF) and the benefits.
