Purpose:
|
The Yorkton Tribal Council Justice Unit co-ordinates the development and implementation of community justice services for the City of Yorkton and the six member First Nations of the Tribal Council by supporting the establishment of Community Justice Committees and the development of a First Nations Aboriginal Justice Network.
The program focuses on holistic community development and restoration, and develops and implements alternative measures programming for youth and adults at the band level as well as in the City of Yorkton and surrounding rural area. In addition, work continues on education and awareness, crime prevention, healing and sentencing circles, and community-based victim and correctional services.
