St. Theresa Point First Nation has a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to operate the St. Theresa Point Tribal Court System. The Tribal Court System provides pre-charge diversion to the community of St. Theresa Point located 610 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg. The community is accessible by plane and boat in the summer and by winter road in the winter. The Program objectives are to strengthen the community's youth through traditional interventions that address substance abuse and incidental offending behaviour. The Program accomplishes these objectives through the delivery of traditional healing circles, offender/victim mediation and counselling.
